- Hello beauties! Today’s blog is all about the best pre workout snacks. There’s nothing quite as bad as not pushing through your work out to your fullest potential because you’re not fueled enough. What’s worse is trying to work out when you’re too full. I have experienced both. I feel shaky as I squat because I am working out in the morning on an empty stomach. Or, I can’t run as fast on the treadmill because I am still too full from lunch. I’m not sure which messes up my workouts more. That’s why I wrote this blog about pre workout snacks. To share the best pre work out snacks that will fuel you without leaving you too full.
Best Pre Workout Snacks
1 oz Raw Almonds- According to My Fitness Pal, these babies are 160 calories. They have 14 grams of healthy fat, 6 grams of protein and 6 grams of carbs. This is just enough to give you a boost of energy without being too heavy in your stomach.
1 Apple- According to My Fitness Pal, an apple has about 65 calories, 13 grams of sugar and 17 grams of carbs to fuel a workout.
1 Tablespoon of Almond Butter- According to My Fitness Pal, this treat will offer you 100 calories, 9 grams of fat, 3.5 grams of carbs and 3.5 grams or protein!
Fage 2% Greek Yogurt with Honey- This is my favorite pre workout snack! It is 190 calories. only has 2.5 grams of fat. It is chock full of protein at a whopping 12 grams and has 29 grams of carbs. It’s so light on the stomach, you won’t feel full at all.
