Hello beauties! Today’s post is a Brylcreem Review. Brylcreem is an old school hair product, that’s actually meant for men. Think of classic perfectly greased hair, like that of Ricky Ricardo. Recently, my amigo’s hair was looking particularly shiny and groomed. As a beautician always on the hunt for new beauty obsessions, I had to ask what he was doing differently to his hair! He told me that he recently started using Brylcreem to style his hair, but discovered that it also worked as a leave-in conditioner. As a woman who loves leave-in conditioners and anything that will make my hair shiny, I had to try it for myself! Only 8 dollars, and widely available at drug stores, there was nothing stopping me from trying Brylcreem! I’m so excited to tell you all why I fell in love with this product.
Brylcreem Product Review
First off, although the product is meant for men, it has no scent. Therefore, we women can get away with using it in our hair! Another bonus of having an odorless hair product is that the scent won’t clash with your shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, perfume, and so on.
Secondly, a little goes a long way! I love that because it means it will last a long time.
But does it actually work for women’s hair?
I have wavy hair, that I dye red. This product tames my waves and frizz and doesn’t fade out my red! Additionally, I’m trying to shampoo my hair less often, again to preserve my red as long as possible. However, since my hair is naturally wavy and frizzy, it tangles easily. I find it difficult to style on the 2nd -4th day after shampooing. I applied the Brylcreem to my waves, focusing on the tips, and let my hair air dry. And WOW! My waves have formed into beautiful soft curls. My hair is so tame and looks like I spent a lot of time styling it.
I love products that enhance my natural hair. It feels great rocking my own natural waves. Using Brylcreem to help my hair air dry nicely is a great alternative to heat styling!
