Hi Fit beauties! Today’s blog is a Fitbit Flex Review. As you all know, I have been on quite the fitness journey. I’ve gone from skinny fat to a more toned and healthier lifestyle. I love tracking apps like MyFitnessPal and NikeRunning to map my progress. Of course, I wanted to see what the Fitbit craze was all about! So, I invested in the Fitbit Flex.
Fitbit Flex Review
Here are the benefits of the Fitbit Flex:
- Counts Steps
This was especially interesting to me. I bought my Flex right before a trip to San Fran. It was amazing to see how many steps I got in just walking around town, sight seeing with my honey.
- Count Calories Burned
It will count total calories burned. So the amount you burn while resting or sleeping; and, of course, the amount burned during exercise. See Next.
- Tracks Exercise
You can manually track the exercise. Or, it will automatically log your “Active Minutes” and count the calories burned in 15 minute increments.
- Counts Active Minutes
It will log how many minutes you exercised. So if you have a goal of an hour a day, 5 times a week, it’s easy to track! For example, by goal is 30 minutes of Active Minutes (AKA exercise day, 5 days a week).
- Syncs to My Fitness Pal to log calories eaten
I personally found that the food selections in Fitbit are not as varied as the ones in My Fitness Pal. So I synced the apps together to log my calories and macros appropriately.
- Logs Water (can customize water goal)
You can customize how many ounces of water you choose to drink in a day and log each ounce you drink.
- Count Active Hours
It will log how many hours of the day you were active versus sedentary. This is a nice reminder to me to get up from my computer desk and walk around a little!
- Tracks Sleep
Sleep is essential to recover from workouts to build muscle! This is great. I can set goals to ensure I get my 7-8 hours a night necessary to recover.
I hope you all liked this Fitbit Flex Review. All in all, I love my Fitbit Flex! Buying it was a nightmare and Fitbit corporate had horrible customer service, unfortunately. It was a fiasco. I bought a defective Fitbit and it took the, a MONTH to send me the replacement. That being said, I am a visual person so I love setting goals and surpassing them… I think this tool will help me to squash my goals. So be sure to keep up with my blog. I’m at 26% body fat now and hope to be to 24% by the end of summer. Do you have a Fitbit? I’d love to read what you like about it in the comments. Til next time!
