Loreal Cleansing Balm Review
This cleansing balm is sort of comparable to Wen. It doesn’t lather. It gently cleanses, conditions and detangles in one step. It follows the “no-poo” trend. Personally, I’m kind of weird about shampoos that don’t lather. However, my scalp is dry and not oily. Therefore, I can benefit from a sulfate free shampoo. I tried this hoping it would change how I feel about non-lathering shampoos. Spoiler alert- It didn’t. 😐
Even after I wash my hair with this and dry it, my roots still feel like day 3 hair. You know what I mean right? That greasy non-clean feeling. That says a lot considering my hair doesn’t get oily unless I go DAYS without washing it. When I used Loreal Cleansing Balm, my roots and scalp do not feel clean. Instead, it feels like I desperately need dry shampoo. That’s immediately after cleansing !! On the 2nd and 3rd days, my roots… feel greasy.
The first time I used Loreal Cleansing Balm, I did work out and sweat. So I thought maybe that was a contributing problem. I decided to give it another try. I used it on a Saturday. I didn’t work out all weekend and still had the same problem come Monday. My roots don’t feel clean at all. They felt greasy, not fresh, and like they need dry shampoo. They felt like that since Saturday to be honest and felt GROSS on Monday.
I usually wash my hair every 3 days because I blow dry, iron it and like to maintain the look. Washing, blow drying and styling is time consuming. I am not the type of girl who wants to do that daily. Nor do I have to! My scalp is not oily. With Loreal Cleansing Balm, I don’t think I can cleanse my hair every three days. It makes my non-oily scalp feel yucky. It makes me feel like I still need to wash my hair right after I have washed it.
I should point out– Loreal Cleansing Balm IS amazing to detangle, add shine, condition, and so on. The tips of my hair love it. It’s my roots and scalp that do not. I suppose I could use a clarifying shampoo on my roots and follow with this on the rest of my hair…but that eliminates the 6-in-1 aka only one product idea.
I want to like this so bad, but I can’t get over the feeling of having a dirty scalp…especially after going through the TIME CONSUMING hassle of washing, drying, styling, etc. Have any of you tried Loreal Cleansing Balm? Am I crazy or did it make your scalp feel like this too? I’d love to read about your experience in the comments. Until next time! Be beautiful!
