PHAMExpo Pasadena 2015
Hello beauties! Today’s post is a PHAMExpo Pasadena 2015 Review. The PHAMExpo stands for The Pro Hair And Makeup Expo. I am so excited to share my experience at the PHAMExpo with you all.
PHAMExpo Pasadena 2015
This year, The PHAMExpo had some big hitters. As always, Lime Crime was there. However, Lime Crime wanted you to get in a long line just to swatch color. I’m a professional ok? I know what color I want. To be honest, I’ve had bad experiences with Lime Crime’s customer service before. With all the controversy behind online shopping with them, you’d think they’d be less stuck up in person. Similarly, Anastasia Beverly Hills had one line for swatching and purchasing. Its just condescending. So even if I know exactly what color I am, you’re going to make me wait in line? I’d understand that attitude if it was a public show like IMATS. But this is PHAME…for Pros! Those stands offered pretty good discounts, but it just didn’t seem worth it to me.
Naime’s, a huge supplier for professionals, was there offering even more discounts. They carry brands like Lorac, Two Faced, etc, at great prices.
I was MOST excited to meet Marlena from Makeup Geek and Melt Cosmetics’ Lora Arellano. Much to my chagrin, Marlena was not at PHAME because Coco Bear’s mother unfortunately passed away that same weekend. My heart goes out to Marlena and Coco Bear, their families, and all of the Makeup Geek Team.
On a brighter note, I DID meet Lora Arellano! I still can’t believe it. She was quick to give me a hug, and SO down to earth! The whole booth had an amazing vibe.
Lora and Dana are the creative professional minds behind Melt Cosmetics. Melt Cosmetics is an amazing lipstick brand that has since expanded to include eyeshadows. I am very proud to see a fellow Latina like Lora become such a success in an industry that I have personally come to love. As an esthetician and makeup artist myself, I have flourished in a career that I know I will stay in for the rest of my life. I personally know how rewarding the industry can be. So I am excited to see more from Melt Cosmetics. The brand is edgy and modern. It is creating a new standard for lipsticks and makeup for everyone.
I hope you all enjoyed reading about my experience at PHAMExpo Pasadena 2015. Were you there? What did you think of the swatch lines? Did you get to meet your favorite beauty guru? I’d love to read in the comments. Until next time. Be beautiful!
